- Supports various flavors of Microsoft Windows (including Home Server 2011)
and all major Linux based distributions including Debian, Ubuntu,
RedHat, CentOS and Fedora, SUSE Linux, Open SUSE and ArchLinux.
- Integrates easily with any locally or remotely installed
proxy server (for example SQUID versions 2.6+ and 3+).
Implemented as ICAP server daemon and/or Squid URL rewriter.
All browsers pointing to Squid are supported
automatically.
- Requires Python 2.5+ for running additional management tasks (automatic
definition and program updates, configuration checking, settings maintenance,
generation of reports). All major Linux distributions
usually have Python preinstalled and should not need
to install any additional modules.
- Requires glibc2.6+ for proper functioning. All major Linux distributions
would work out of the box and should not need to install any additional dependences.
† All content filtering modules are
fully functional but some other features like
usage reports, automatic updates of definition
files, fancy installation packages may be not
fully implemented.
